A.1 Hosting
This website is hosted by an external service provider:
Hetzner Online GmbH Industriestraße 25 91710 Gunzenhausen Germany
The personal data collected on this website is stored on the host's servers within the European Union. The use is carried out for the purpose of providing a secure, fast, and reliable delivery of our offering on the basis of our legitimate interest (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR).
A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR is in place with the host. The host processes the data exclusively according to our instructions. The host's technical and organizational measures are available at hetzner.com/AV/TOM.pdf.
A.2 Server Log Files
The provider of the pages automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files, which your browser automatically transmits to us. These are:
- Browser type and browser version
- operating system used
- Referrer URL
- Hostname of the accessing computer
- Time of the server request
- IP address
No merging of this data with other data sources will be carried out.
Purpose: technical operation, stability and security of the website, investigation of misuse. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in error-free and secure operation). Storage period: 7 days; thereafter, the log files are automatically deleted. Longer storage only takes place if this is necessary to investigate a specific security-related incident; in this case, the affected log files are exempt from deletion until the incident has been conclusively resolved.
A.3 Contact Form
When you submit inquiries to us via the contact form, the information you provide in the form, including the contact details you specify there, will be stored by us for the purpose of processing the inquiry and in case of follow-up questions.
Data collected: Name, email address, message text, and the date and time of submission. Purpose: Processing of your inquiry. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR, provided your inquiry is related to the performance of a contract or is necessary for the implementation of pre-contractual measures. In all other cases, Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in responding to inquiries). Sharing: We do not share this data without your consent. Retention period: We retain the data until your inquiry has been fully processed and no further follow-up questions are expected, but no longer than 24 months. Statutory retention obligations remain unaffected.
A.4 Support Ticket System (Helpdesk)
For processing support requests – particularly regarding our apps – we operate a ticket system based on open-source Odoo modules (OCA Helpdesk). The system runs on the same infrastructure as this website (see A.1). No data is transmitted to third parties or to an external ticket service provider.
Data collected
- Information from the ticket form: name, email address, subject, description of the issue, selected category or affected app
- attachments voluntarily uploaded by you, such as screenshots or log files
- the entire communication history for the ticket: messages, status changes, timestamps
- when creating a ticket by email, additionally your sender address and the header data of your message
- if you use our customer portal: the login credentials required for sign-in as well as the time and scope of access
Note on attachments
Please only submit data to us that is required to process your request. Log files, screenshots, and configuration files often contain file paths, usernames, network addresses, or third-party data. Please remove or redact such information before uploading, provided it is not needed for error analysis.
Purpose: Receipt, processing, and follow-up of support requests, error analysis and quality assurance of our apps, documentation of the processing history. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR, insofar as the request concerns the use of an app obtained from us or any other contractual relationship. Otherwise Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in orderly and traceable processing of support requests). Recipients: The data will only be accessed by the controller and – where deployed – by employees who are obligated to maintain confidentiality. Retention period:Tickets are deleted three years after their closure. The period is based on the standard limitation period (§ 195 BGB), in order to still be able to substantiate claims arising from the user relationship. Uploaded attachments will be deleted together with the ticket. Statutory retention obligations remain unaffected.
Satisfaction rating: After a ticket is closed, you will have the opportunity to rate the handling. Submitting a rating is voluntary. The rating and any free-text comment will be assigned to the ticket and deleted together with it. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR (legitimate interest in improving our support).
A.5 Cookies
This website uses exclusively technically necessary cookies. These are required to provide the website functions you have requested (e.g., session management, login to the customer portal, security functions).
Legal basis: Technically necessary cookies are stored without consent pursuant to § 25 (2) No. 2 TDDG; the subsequent processing of the data is based on Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR.
Further details in our Cookie Policy.
A.6 Reach Measurement
Variant 1 – consent-free
For the statistical analysis of the use of this website, we use a self-operated reach measurement. The analysis is carried out entirely on our own server; no data is transmitted to third parties.
No cookies are set and no information on your device is accessed. Your IP address is truncated before storage and processed exclusively in this truncated form; we are therefore unable to identify you. There is no cross-device recognition and no profiling.
Data collected: page accessed, time of access, referrer, browser type, operating system, truncated IP address. Purpose: Determining reach, detecting technical errors, designing the website to meet needs. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in a data-minimizing statistical evaluation of our own offering). Storage period: 12 months.
Variant 2 – consent-based
For the statistical analysis of the use of this website, we use a self-operated reach measurement. The analysis is carried out entirely on our own server; no data is transmitted to third parties.
For this purpose, a cookie is set when you visit or information on your device is accessed in order to combine recurring visits.
Data collected: page accessed, time of access, referrer, browser type, operating system, IP address, identifier for session recognition. Purpose: Determining reach, detecting technical errors, designing the website to meet needs. Legal basis: § 25 (1) TDDG and Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR – processing is carried out exclusively on the basis of your consent, which you give via the cookie notice. You may withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future; the lawfulness of any processing carried out prior to withdrawal remains unaffected. Storage period: 12 months.
A.7 Newsletter
We currently do not send a newsletter and do not collect any data for this purpose.
Part B – Apps
This part applies exclusively to the use of our macOS apps. The processing described in Part A does not take place in the apps.
B.0 General Principle
Our apps are designed to work without your data. The following applies to all apps listed below:
- No data collection: No personal data, usage data, or analytics data is collected, stored, or transmitted.
- No third-party services: No analytics SDKs, no advertising, no tracking, no cloud services.
- Local processing: All processing takes place on your Mac. Settings are stored locally and never transmitted.
- Updates: Updates are provided exclusively through the Apple App Store. The apps do not include their own update mechanism and do not connect to our servers for that purpose.
Since no data is collected by us from app usage itself, there is nothing we could share, sell, or delete in this regard. If, however, you contact us on your own initiative with a support request, we will process the data you provide to us in that context – Section A.4 applies.
B.1 DevPreview
DevPreview is a Quick Look extension for file previews on macOS.
- No network access: The Quick Look extension does not have a network entitlement and is technically unable to access the network. All file previews are rendered entirely on your Mac. Your files never leave your device.
- File access: The app reads only the files you preview or explicitly select, renders them locally, and retains nothing.
- Settings: Design, font size, and format toggles are stored locally on your Mac and never transmitted.
B.2 CliFileSweeper
CliFileSweeper is a tool for cleaning up files on macOS.
- No network access: The app does not establish any network connections. All processing takes place locally on your Mac.
- File access: The app only accesses the directories and files that you explicitly share or select. No content, file names, or paths are transmitted to us or third parties.
- Logs: Any log files are stored exclusively locally on your Mac and are not transmitted.
- Settings: Are stored locally on your Mac and never transmitted.
B.9 Processing by Apple when obtained via the App Store
Even though our apps themselves do not collect data: The acquisition and updating of the apps takes place via the Apple App Store. In doing so, Apple processes personal data under its own responsibility – such as your Apple account ID, purchase and download history, device and payment information.
We have no influence over this processing and are not aware of it in detail. Responsible for this is:
Apple Distribution International Ltd. Hollyhill Industrial Estate, Hollyhill, Cork, Ireland
For details, please refer to Apple's privacy policy: apple.com/legal/privacy.
From Apple, we only receive aggregated, non-personal sales and usage statistics via App Store Connect. It is not possible for us to draw conclusions about individual persons.
If you have consented to the transmission of diagnostic and usage data to developers in your device's system settings, Apple may send us anonymized crash reports. This transmission is carried out by Apple based on the consent you have given there and can be deactivated by you at any time in the system settings.
Part C – Changes to this Privacy Policy
We update this privacy policy when the legal situation, our offering, or the manner of data processing changes – for example, when a new app is released. The version published on this page applies in each case. You can find the date of the current version at the top of this page.
